POSITION: Teacher: Special Education Basic Classroom

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Special Education Director

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Michigan Teaching Certificate and full approval in one or more areas of Special Education

● Prefer experience working with students eligible in CI and/or ASD

RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Provide research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and curriculum needs of each student on the caseload

● Assess student progress through benchmarking and progress monitoring

● Schedule team meetings and work collaboratively with all educational professionals regarding the needs of students

● Provide consultation to classroom teachers regarding modifications and accommodations

● Develop and implement timely and compliant Individualized Education Plans, schedule meetings (METs and IEPs) and perform all other case management duties

● Develop, coordinate and implement delivery of services such as specially designed instruction and positive behavioral supports for caseload students

● Develop and maintain an active parent/school communication model

● Provide schedules, direction, and supervision of Para Educators who service the caseload

● Participate in all assigned in-service training and staff meetings

● Contribute as a member on various building and leadership teams

SALARY: Per Master Contract
