Child Care Teacher Position Description
SS Peter and Paul School Daycare/Preschool facility is looking for 2 caring,
compassionate Child Care Teachers who have experience caring for the
growth and development of children ages two to three years. We are
committed to providing top quality care and education for students who are
enrolled in our program. Our goal is to enhance the lives of every child that
attends our daycare/preschool. If you are a patient, mature, caring
professional who relates well to children and has a background in child care,

Child Care Teacher Responsibilities
Plan age appropriate activities and learning centers that teach basic skills
Maintain a safe classroom environment including sterilizing toys and play
areas. Develop a cleaning routine throughout the day that keeps all of the
interactive areas sanitary and safe
Monitor children for health, behavioral and emotional concerns. Monitor children during outdoor activities and interact with the children to
enhance their learning
Maintain daily and weekly communication with parents and contact parents
in emergency situations
Work with parents to ensure that children are learning and socializing
towards educational and behavioral goals
Serve meals and monitor children during mealtimes
Keep records relating to child care
Cooperate with all licensing agencies in maintaining compliance with
requirements and in improving the quality of care
Obtain the required training hours annually to meet requirements set by SS Peter and Paul School.
Child Care Teacher skills
Ability to obtain a Level 7 Young Star certification
3+ years’ child care experience or child care experience as part of Early
Childhood Education Degree (Associate or Bachelors) Must possess valid CPR and First Aid certifications and a valid driver’s
Caring, compassionate and positive attitude a must Ability to pass a background check
Exceptional communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills with a caring
and compassionate attitude
Strong understanding of childhood development Attentiveness to needs and safety of children. Ability to work closely with other staff members and exhibit a team philosophy.
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Repetitive bending, stretching and stooping
Have mobility required to ensure the safety of the children
Work with children on the floor
Work outdoors in a variety of weather
Have visual and hearing capabilities consistent with Child Care
Licensing safety requirements.
Note: Pay is in the $13 to $15 per hour range
If working 40 hours per week, benefits included.
