Volunteer for Zoo Goes Boo!
Celebrate Halloween and help support saving wildlife and wild spaces by donating time to John Ball zoo! The treat trail features tent covered treat stations, no contact distribution, and Halloween spirit!
We are looking for individuals or groups age 15+ to hand out the goodies. Bring a friend or two and volunteer together at a station, be partnered up with another volunteer, or be stationed by yourself if you prefer.
Registration is required prior to volunteering.

Zoo Goes Boo
October, 16th, 17th, 18th, 23rd, 24th, 25th
Half Day – AM 8:30 am – 1:15 pm
Half Day – PM 12:30 pm – 5:15 pm
Full Day – 8:30 am – 5:15 pm
-Passing treats to guests with no contact while standing or sitting at your treat station
-Opening additional treat boxes located at your treat station
-Event space will have a socially distanced one way trail.
-Event is held outside no matter the weather.
-Stations are located under canopy tents with a table, hand sanitizer, sanitizing solution to wipe table, and a Plexiglas guard between you and the guests.
-Masks are required for all volunteers and staff.
-Once you have committed to your shift we are depending on you to arrive on time and stay the full shift time.
-We ask that you do not leave your station unattended, we will be providing coverage to cover breaks.
-Complete necessary paperwork prior to shift
At John Ball Zoo safety is a priority, if you are interested in helping with the event but have safety concerns please reach out for additional details. All volunteers must agree to follow the safety protocols in place, including wearing a mask, and filling out a symptom checker before coming to the zoo.
