Responsibilities
Reconciles and analyzes extracted data to general ledger trial balances and subsidiary system records to identify, document, and resolve differences.
Provides professional accounting services in the interpretation and application of accounting principles, policies, and procedures.
Conducts in depth studies of situations/conditions/problems typically involving complex, highly integrated accounting and finance systems and financial management execution activities.
Proposes specific policies and procedures changes as required.
Interprets, reviews, evaluates, tests, adapts, and/or implements DoD, SAA, or DFAS policies, procedures, guidance, and systems.
Performs analysis and research using various applications, software, and query tools or logic such as ACL, Excel, Access, SQL Builder, OBIEE, and DoD’s Advana platform
Collaborates with team members to develop recommendations and execute projects
Utilizes knowledge of automated systems information to advise on data for reporting and analysis
Analyzes accounting structure and recommends how to modify the accounting structure to better reflect the nature of transactions.
Identifies root causes and corrective action related to accounting data analysis or reviews of operational procedures.
Duties will be developmental in nature while performing below the full performance level (GS-11)
